Collection: Gople Portable
Brand: Artemide
Specifications: The Gople family keeps growing, with new versions dedicated to different lighting design languages. It also becomes a portable lamp that offers an impressive 32-hours of running time without mains electricity. Thus, everyone can be the architect of light in their own space, wherever it may be. Every element is designed to guarantee excellent light quality with high efficiency and low energy consumption. Long running times unplugged go hand- in-hand with rapid recharging times. The soft, diffused light emission can be adjusted to 3 different brightness settings to create different ambiances. It is perfect for everyday lighting scenarios in personal spaces, but also for more social moments.

Specifications: At first, light available to humans came only from stars: the sun and its reflection on the moon. For millennial mankind accepted its incapacity to see in the dark and adapted consequently to the natural rhythm of the celestial spheres, of dawn and dusk. But such agreement changed about 2 million years ago. The appearance of the controlled use of fire marked the beginning of the search for how to transform night into day at will. But getting light from burning stuff was very inefficient (it heated more than illuminated) and uncomfortable (pollution due to smoke). Then about some 70 thousand years ago, light began to come from burning fuel: animal fat first, oil or wax then, or gas and kerosene more recently not only allowed a more efficient use of energy but also introduced the need for a more specific design of the light’s source. The appearance of electrical power at the turn of the last century started a technological development that irrespective of the scientific principle employed to produce light (incandescent, fluorescent or metal halides), made any other source of energy almost disappear. The next step in the production of light came with the development of Light Emitting Diodes (LED). For the first time, light shifted from the electrical realm to the field of electronics. But for some reason such revolutionary step has not permeated society; people look for lights and lamps in the white goods section, not in the electronics section. Our project for Artemide is about integrating the first and the last moment in the history of light: celestial spheres with electronics. On the one hand we want light to vary its intensity and direction according to phases more than moving pieces of a mechanism. On the other hand, we want to aknowledge the fact that the future of light is electronic, not electric. The distinctive potential of electronics is its capacity to carry information that allow for multiple ways of interaction, such as a tactile screen. So, our project is a low voltage, moveable, dark sphere intuitively activated by touch. Hence the name Huara, the aymarà word for star. Aymarà is the native population of the Acatama desert, the driest and darkest one in the world. In other words, the place from where one can see more stars in the planet; no wonder that by 2020, 70 % of the cutting edge astronomical observation capacity of the planet will be in the land of Aymarà. Huara is to honor the original light source of mankind and the state of the art technology.

Specifications: "IN-EI" - Japanese for "shadow, shadiness, nuance". The art of lighting has a conceptual and technological heritage at the Miyake Design Studio, dating back to 2010, when Issey Miyake and his research and development team called Reality Lab., presented 132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE. This new process was developed using a mathematical program with 3-D geometric principals by Jun Mitani. 132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE is an extremely ingenious way by which to make clothing, and a process that provides yet another example of directions the quest for innovative textiles technologies can take. The project comes from the intersection of creativity and mathematics, resulting in clothing that can be folded flat and become 3D shapes, starting from a single piece of cloth. As the Reality Lab. explored 132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE’s potential in areas beyond clothing, a natural extension of the process was lighting products. IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE was born from a collaboration with Artemide marrying their lighting expertise with the Lab.’s innovative approach to the material and design. The IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE lighting collection was co-developed and manufactured by Artemide. It is a collection of free-standing, table and hanging lights. Each lampshade is created using 2 or 3D mathematic principals, where light and shade harmoniously alternate. Miyake’s unique folding technology creates both statuesque forms as well as sufficient solidity. The structure of the recycled material, together with an additional surface treatment allows these shades to perfectly keep their shape without the need for internal frame, and to be re-shaped when needed. They can be easily stored flat when not in use.

Specifications: The basic form of the Gople Lamp enhances the beauty of glass, hand-processed according to an ancient Venetian technique that gradually turns white glass into crystal glass by combining both upon blowing, thus making each piece unique. More innovative finishes are added, including silver or copper vacuum metallization.Silver, bronze, copper and blue finishes are made with an innovative and sustainable metal vacuum deposition process. From the point of view of environmental-friendliness, “sputtering” is the absolutely cleanest coating technology for the type of metal used and because all emissions are abated, in particular those into the atmosphere of sulphuric acid and cyanides produced by galvanic processes. Solid paint with up to 5% of solvents (compared to 75% of traditional products) is employed for the successive protective clearcoat phase. The process generates very little waste and the resulting finish is particularly resistant over time. In any of these cases, glass finishing is designed to ensure the best relation with the emitted light, screening the source and maximizing direct emission through transparency. The most basic version with the traditional E27 or E14 joint is designed to provide different performance levels compared to the more innovative RWB version, where colours can be combined with each other to create lightscapes that meet space requirements. It is a timeless solution for its flexibility in adjusting to the development of standard source technologies.

I ordered plumbing and accessories for my apartment renovation in Dubai several times online. Very quick responses by email. In my case, it turned out cheaper and faster to work directly than to try to find something in Dubai. Thank you for your work!

I came across to LineaSelect by mistake and one day I sent them an email to see if they can help me with Devon&Devon bathroom items. The staff was friendly and our communication easy, with both Aiste and Jaunius, very professional. Today I received the items and I must say I am impressed. They are exactly as described on the website. I will return for more items in future for sure and I do recommend this website if you wish to get high quality items for your project. ! 👍

I had a disappointing experience with Lineaselect at first. After confirming and paying for a binding offer that included a fixed delivery timeframe, I was informed six days later that the manufacturer was currently unable to deliver the product. I was offered to either cancel the order or wait for a new, undefined lead time. While communication remained polite, the handling of the situation initially felt unprofessional. Accepting payment and confirming delivery, only to withdraw the offer days later, raised concerns about reliability. Update: After this rocky start, Lineaselect made every effort to arrange delivery as quickly as possible. In the end, I have to say it turned out to be a positive overall experience. The team was responsive and tried hard to find a good solution.
